When it comes to COVID-19, Coastline Academy has been working hard at keeping everyone healthy with our safety protocols in place. We are glad to be back out on the road and teaching lessons again to all our wonderful students. The CDC recently announced changes to their guidelines for mask wearing for fully vaccinated people and we've been receiving questions regarding this hot topic, so we address it here!

Our Safety Protocols

When we were able to get back on the road safely in 2020, Coastline Academy made some changes to keep not only our students, but also our instructors safe during this global pandemic. Some of the changes we put in place were:

  • Students and instructors are required to self-certify based on a set of guidelines, as recommended by the CDC and WHO
  • Students and instructors must wear a mask for the duration of the lesson
  • Every car is equipped with hand sanitizer and HEPA air filters
  • All cancellation and change fees are being waived for COVID-19-related changes
  • Instructors will perform an extra car cleaning after each lesson, and before the next

New Mask Guidelines

On May 13, 2021, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people could safely stop wearing masks indoors and outdoors, in most settings. The settings where masks are still required are during travel. This includes being on buses, trains, planes and public transportation.

Because our lessons take place in an enclosed space, we continue to require that students and instructors wear masks during lessons.

As more guidelines and updates are made regarding COVID-19, we will keep everyone informed and we truly appreciate your support and commitment to keeping everyone safe and healthy! And as always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our friendly support staff and make sure to book your driving lesson today.
